We kind of exploded as a cast. In the best way possible. But now that we're all here and so may of us are new, let's talk about stuff!

Things to consider:

- Handwaved interaction. What are routine things our dudes are (will be) doing together?
- Living arrangements? Who is where and what is going on...
- Role in the Luceti Alliance which is not actually called that but an alternative name was never really agreed on. What's the sitch here?
- WHAT IS EVERYONE DOING WHO EVEN ARE WE???

This post is already very professional and organized, yes.

Please dump any commentary on where you think your character fits into any of this. Seriously, just start talking. We'll go from there.

tbh Annie will likely avoid the group depending on what kind of "keeping an eye on her" they opt to do. I joke about the hot springs a lot, but it is a place she might consider once she figures out those creepy teleporting things... she does not really feel like being anywhere near Levi, Erwin, and Hange in particular.

What's probably most important for me is knowing how the rest of you guys want to handle Annie, or to what degree you want - I can have her be that annoying thorn that keeps evading watch, or have it be handwaved someone always has an eye on what she does and ping people if anything of interest or that might call for interference comes up.

What kinds of scenarios are you guys actually interested in? I don't want to be dragging you into babysitting duties, and what Annie decides to do will depend on................. the way things flow. She isn't pleased with the set up, the idea of the drafts, or anything here, tbh, and she wouldn't be opposed to ultimately teaming up.........................

I think for me personally I don't want to inhibit your ability to play her and have her interact with other characters (obviously). Levi will want to keep a close eye on her, but even with the influx of more survey corps members, he knows that they don't really have the manpower to keep her locked down or even necessarily on 24/7 surveillance.

THAT BEING SAID I think we should handwave that there will be a constant effort to keep an eye on her movements, which may include trying to monitor the people she interacts with (such as potential enemies, if any). BUT in that same vein of course there will be flexibility if you want to try to plan something covert with her that they CAN'T see, that's obviously something I want you to be able to do also.

Levi will likely attempt to harass her in some way at just about every turn he gets, so I apologize in advance for that fjeigejf sob.

Yeah, I think wrt to the idea of covertness should she want to slide into that, I'll give you guys a heads up and work with you from there? There's always a way to make those things work out, and we can do so without having anyone look like an idiot unduly ICly!

Though to start with she'll be in information gathering mode, which will mean things like (school, sorry guys, quiet student in the back), checking out and working with the Battle Dome, and interfacing with pretty much those she can if and when simply hanging around to absorb information proves insufficient.

I welcome the Levi harassments for all she'll hate it very much, so you're fine!

Most of what she does will be on rotation, since there's only so much training one can do healthily, and as maintenance, though wrt to hand to hand things she'll probably be dipping into the pool of experts around to learn more of different styles and also take in what she can about the past battles here to... know best how to fuck off or deal with things if she must.

I'm really going to need a thread between Annie and Armin at some point, I"m not sure how things are going re: timelines right now but i can tag into your open log or we can do something separate idk i just need those betrayal feelings

this must happen and timing wise, what you prefer is good by me! i think the only thing i have to offer as a point of amusement with the log i'm in now is that it is probably 100% the only time she'll ever be in a dress without game mechanics literally forcing her into one again

there is nothing to that except i find it funny (and we never see her in skirts in canon, which makes sense, given her fighting style, fuck skirts who wears those anyway)

I think Mikasa was only trigger happy to take Annie down in canon because of Eren. I would give a limb to have seen more interaction between them incanon...but since we haven't, I'm down for making it up if you are.

weekly sparring yes/no? She won't ask questions about Titan powers; she finds out more by observing than asking.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes - and that's good, since Annie isn't much of a talker and observation will be her MO too, which will be interesting between the two of them

and also interesting, since Annie doesn't have the pretense here anymore, and really no... goal... past wanting to get back to wake up one day to presumably return to her father

I figure on some level Annie almost likes to needle Mikasa over things that she's protective about (coughErencough) when she may perceive it as not always being in his best interest... but then again she does seem to be pretty subtle button push in that one grand unremembered ending fight Eren graced us with when he was wrestling with Reiner

what are goals...Mikasa's goal is Eren and whatever Eren's doing...honestly I'm interested if being in another world would push her to figure out something for herself as well.

/nods; I think Mikasa definitely respects Annie. They're rivals. And then Annie pulls a fast one one them and Mikasa loses it a little (sorry, she did cut off your escape while you were climbing the wall) but yeah, normally I think they'd get along with some buttons pushed, but mostly curt nods ad greetings. Any time they want to settle they take it outside.

tangents briefly but what i think is interesting with annie and mikasa at the wall is some of the translations i've heard in the community that make it more complex than "fall" - more the sentiment of "give up" or, more practically, "surrender", which can cast an interesting light on events and the way that all went down

Annie definitely has to respect Mikasa's abilities for what they are, and yes I can see a lot of all that there and aaah I do like that we can get along with exactly those sorts of things. Step outside, ladies, we've got a bone to pick with each other!

And I also think it'll be interesting with the change in world and pacing of that world to see what Mikasa might find out about herself for sure, since god, there's so much going on for Mikasa and she's such a wonderfully complex and layered character and I really look forward to seeing what you do with that? High five for having to figure out more about themselves with a lack of pressure on the guiding missions that formed their adolescent and teenage lives o/

They certainly don't hedge around the corners with their problems--they like settling them fast and yesss this is all very nice (geez I need to hurry up and properly intro...)

Yesss she's got Eren on the mind but she isn't only just that. She's so awesome and I seriously I hope I can do her justice. But I definitely do like the freedom of being in a game and figuring out she wants to do. And Annie as well. They might become better friends in time (seriously where are all the girls; Mikasa hangs around too much with guys).

yeah, it's an interesting framing difference... i mean, granted, to each person is a difference in interpretation as it is, that's the joy of any medium we consume as colored by our own way of processing information. i just appreciate the kind of feeling that can come behind "surrender" versus the concept of a "fall," for all there's definitely similarities and /hands over mouth i'm sorry

no don't be sorry! surrendering is a sort of concept that can be positive or negative depending on the person doing the surrendering, who they're surrendering to, or the circumstances. Fall seems like a sort of forced thing and is nearly always negative, like one person shoving at another until they topple.
